29 October 2008 - BOIVIN & PARTNERS' involvement in the United Arab Emirates - The United Arab Emirates and France have been continuously keeping good political relationships and enjoying strong economic ties for a long time. This cooperation has materialized in a mutual fiscal convention and on cultural grounds: the Louvre Museum project and university exchanges such as La Sorbonne and our famous business schools have been initiated. French language is being studied by 50,000 pupils in 176 schools in the Emirates. Main industrial groups are present locally in various sectors such as the petroleum industry, engineering, luxe industry, hotels, banks and insurances and world leading distribution companies. These latter companies have a sustainable development policy. After a fast industrialization and a tremendous urbanization period, the representatives of UAE Government, aware of the degradation of their natural resources and facing water penury, intend to fight against pollutions. They have ratified seventeen international conventions related to environment protection, such as Kyoto Protocol, CITES Convention, MARPOL. The local leaders want to adapt their future development programs with environment new opportunities and organize, every year, an important Environment Symposium which attracts experts and professional from many countries around the world. The promotion of the Masdar project, developed with a 250 million dollars investment found, testifies the willing of UAE leaders to develop sustainable development ideas, to fight against the greenhouse effects and promote renewable energy locally. BOIVIN & PARTNERS along with Danièle Rouillac are willing to bring their well known expertise and their long term experience in Environment protection to offer to the Emirates the necessary tools and to cooperate to the promotion of necessary sustainable development programs.
